Title: Empowering Aging with Technology to Prevent Falls and Injuries

Prof. Shuping Xiong was invited by the Department of Industrial and Systems Engineering at The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) to deliver a distinguished research seminar on March 6.

In this talk, Prof. Xiong presented cutting-edge technologies for fall risk assessment, proactive intervention, and real-time fall status monitoring and injury prevention. He highlighted recent advancements from his KAIST research team, particularly the development of an AI-driven wearable protective airbag designed to safeguard high-risk older adults.

The seminar was conducted online via Zoom and attracted more than 400 participants, followed by active discussions and engagement.
