     5. Abstract: Dr. Chris Delcher is an epidemiologist and associate professor in the Department of Pharmacy Practice and Science at the University of Kentucky. He also serves as the director of the Institute for Pharmaceutical Outcomes and Policy where he has published more than 100 peer-reviewed publications. His research primarily focuses on the epidemiology of prescription drug use, utilizing data from medical and pharmacy encounters to assess both the intended and unintended consequences of drug policies on population health. Dr. Delcher is particularly interested in enhancing public health surveillance systems, especially in contexts with varying resource availability. This includes the use of wastewater to detect drugs in communities. Among his notable works, Dr. Delcher has investigated the impact of prescription drug monitoring programs on opioid-related harms, contributing to systematic reviews on the subject. He has also explored the association between recreational cannabis legalization and opioid-related deaths. He is also actively involved with the Ministry of Health in Haiti and their HIV surveillance program. In summary, Dr. Delcher's research aims to inform and improve drug policy decisions, enhance surveillance methodologies, and ultimately reduce substance use-related harms through data-driven insights. He will provide an overview of this research and implications for health policy in Korea.
